Green firms First Solar, GT Solar International and Archer Daniels Midland were recommended on Friday as solid targets for investors by Brent Wilsey, President of Wilsey Asset Management.

Wilsey told CNBC that First Solar is a company that has sales growth of 140 percent year-over-year, with earnings up 111 percent.

You are only paying about 17 times forward earnings, and the debt-to equity is only 13 percent, he told the network.

GT Solar International was also recommended. Wilsey, who has 25 years of experience as an investor, said the company's sales are up 380 percent and stated the company's balance sheet has no debt. But he also said from its total $69 million equity, only $50 million is in intangible assets.

GT Solar actually makes the equipment, First Solar sells the equipment, he said.

Wilsey also affirmed that the ethanol industry still delivers profits. He recommended Archer Daniels Midland, since their sales grew by 14 percent year-over-year.

Recalling ethanol he said It won't be the big boom that it thought it was a year ago, but in current levels you can see a nice appreciation of the stock, Wilsley noted.
