As the weather cools down, the drama begins to heat up during Season 12 of “Grey’s Anatomy " -- literally. According to the synopsis for the upcoming installment of the hit ABC series, Grey Sloan memorial will become flooded with injured firefighters due to a nearby wildfire.

But that won’t be the only devastating disaster set to occur in the show’s anticipated winter finale. A promo video for episode 8, titled “Things We Lost in the Fire,” reveals fans will get one step closer to learning Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) mysterious beef with the hunky, new doc named Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson).

In episode 7, audiences watched as Owen began experiencing PTSD, which was triggered by Rigg’s Grey Sloan memorial arrival. He told Bailey (Chandra Wilson) that she made a grave mistake hiring the New Zealand doctor. So, what exactly is Owen’s issue with Riggs? Well, despite staying tight-lipped, the redheaded surgeon did confirm to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) that he does in fact “hate” Riggs.

“We’re going to get more [information], but not all of it, and not the key elements to it,” McKidd told Entertainment Weekly of when viewers would learn about Owen and Riggs’ past. “We’re going to get very enticing hints next week, and hints that people will be able to draw their own conclusions. The actual spelling out of what happens is going to be saved until we come back.”

That’s right, fans won’t find out until “Grey’s Anatomy” returns from its winter break. But viewers don’t have to wait until the spring to learn more information on their favorite Grey Sloan couple -- Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April (Sarah Drew). During episode 7, the troubled couple agreed to go out for dinner. While April saw that as a chance to reconnect with her husband, Jackson wanted to use their sit down as an opportunity to discuss divorce. But instead of talking about lawyers and property division, the couple ended up in bed together.

“You guys had sex,” Callie (Sara Ramirez) points out in the promo video for episode 8.

But will Japril’s bedroom tango lead to the rekindling of their relationship? (We sure hope so!) Speaking of couples, Maggie (Kelly McCrary) will struggle to “keep things professional” with Andrews (Giacomo Gianniotti) at work while Jo (Camilla Luddington) begins to question Alex’s (Justin Chambers) priorities in the forthcoming installment.

“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12 winter finale will air on Thursday, Nov 19, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
