Today is actress Nicole Kidman's 44th birthday. We celebrate the 5'11 Australian (Hawaiian born) Academy Award winner with 10 stunning images of her looks over the years.

Nicole Kidman was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 20th in 1967. Born to Australian parents, the family moved to Washington DC shortly after her birth. Three years later, the family moved home to Sydney, Australia, where Kidman grew up.

A fun fact about Kidman includes that the actress used to mime. After studying ballet, a young Kidman began practicing the art of mime and drama.

Kidman was doing well for herself as an actress in Australia in the 1980's, and her role in the miniseries 'Vietnam' (1987) won her an Australian Film Institute Award.

Her American agent helped Kidman obtain acting roles in the States, and after playing Tom Cruise's love interest in 'Days of Thunder' (1990), Kidman was on Hollywood's radar. It was on 'Days of Thunder' that Kidman and Cruise feel in love and in 1990 the couple wed.

After playing the supporting role in films such as, 'Far and Away' (also starring Cruise), 'Billy Bathgate,' 'My Life,' and 'Batman Forever,' Kidman began moving into bigger roles. After a few more films, Kidman was cast in Stanley Kubrick's thriller 'Eyes Wide Shut' (1999, again, starring Cruise).

After 'Eyes Wide Shut,' Kidman was cast in 'Moulin Rouge' which threw Kidman into leading lady status. Following 'Moulin Rouge,' Kidman was cast as the lead actress in film such as, 'The Others,' 'The Hours,' 'Cold Mountain,' 'Stepford Wives' and most recently, 'Just Go with It.'

In 2001, Kidman and Cruise announced their separation and that summer the couple was divorced. Kidman and Cruise share two adopted children together. She has since married country singer, Keith Urban. The couple welcomed their daughter Faith Margaret earlier this year.

Kidman currently has four films in post-production: 'Trespass,' 'Hemingway & Gellhorn,' 'The Danish Girl' and 'Stoker.'
