Hollywood icon Harrison Ford is doing well after he was involved in a plane crash Thursday. The engine of the small aircraft Ford was piloting failed and the actor was unable to land safely. After Ford was rushed to the hospital, his son, Ben Ford, took to Twitter to give an update on the “Star Wars” star.

“At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok! He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man,” the 47-year-old chef tweeted. “Thank you all for your thoughts and good vibes for my dad.”

The message quickly received more than 7,500 shares and thousands of favorites from fans concerned about the 72-year-old actor. “Good deal! wish you & your family the best! #scary,” one person wrote. “Great news. Here's to his healing,” another said.

Ford’s wife, Calista Flockhart, 50, did not issue a statement after her husband’s accident.

Ford is a longtime pilot who flies both planes and helicopters. Thursday's crash isn't the first time Ford has had an incident with an aircraft. He had to make an emergency landing in 1999 after he took hard landing and the aircraft rolled.

The actor reportedly realized there was a problem with the plane as soon as he took off on Thursday. He tried to bring the plane back to Santa Monica Airport, but crashed onto a golf course.

"Something happened that caused him to turn back around to the field. It sounds like he had some [type of] engine failure," Miles O'Brien, a CNN aviation analyst, told the news site. It reportedly hit a tree as it landed.

Luckily, there were doctors playing on the golf course when the plane crashed. They rushed over to treat Ford at the scene. He was taken to the hospital soon after.
