Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is in for a bumpy ride in next week’s Season 4 installment of “Homeland.” Following her second failed attempt to kill Pakistan terrorist Haissam Haqqani (Numan Acar) in episode 6, the Islamabad station chief’s mission will reportedly “get complicated” in episode 7, according to Showtime’s synopsis.

Following episode 6’s shocking reveal that Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), the former CIA director, was in the custody of Haqqani, the current director, Senator Andrew Lockhart (Tracy Letts) will reportedly make a trip to Carrie’s team overseas. “The people in this room represent the best hope of getting Saul Berenson back alive,” Lockhart says to Carrie’s team in a promo for the episode.

In typical Carrie fashion, she appears to go against Lockhart’s wishes to bring Saul back to safety, standing firm in her belief that Saul’s life should have been put at risk in order to kill Haqqani with a drone strike in episode 6.

“Taking out Haqqani when we had the chance was the correct call,” Carrie says to Peter Quinn {Rupert Friend) after he disrupted her call to kill Haqqani the previous week. “Sounds pretty f---ing harsh,” Quinn says. Carrie disagrees, stating that Saul would rather risk his life than that of other innocent members of the CIA. “Mountains are about to be moved on his behalf. Lives risked. He would do anything right now to avoid that. He would put a bullet in his own brain,” she says.

While there is no indication that Saul will be brought to safety at the end of the episode -- though the title "Redux," meaning "brought back; resurgent," is a clue he might-- Carrie does appear to have a conversation with her longtime friend and advisor in the promo. “I was willing to let you die,” Carrie tearfully says to an unknown figure.

Saul isn't the only one whose fate is up in the air; Carrie’s future also appears to be at risk. At the end of the promo, Carrie is seen being hauled off by two men and put into some sort of chamber infested with bugs. “Where? Where are we going?” Carrie says to the men. “No! Please!” she screams.
