Honda Motor Company (NYSE: HMC) is recalling 166,609 model year 2012 CR-V and 2013 Acura ILX vehicles in the U.S., a number which could swell to as many as 321,453 vehicles globally, Automotive News said Thursday. Honda declined to comment on the price of the fix.

Using the driver's or passenger's side front inner door handle at the same time as the manual or power door lock may damage the release cable for the inner door handle. If the cable is damaged, it can cause the door to not latch completely when closed, resulting in the door opening unexpectedly, according to Automotive News.

No injuries or accidents have been reported a result of the flaw, AutoBlog said. Honda will notify owners of affected vehicles by mail beginning in August, and the door latches and some door handles will be replaced by authorized dealers.

Honda Motor Company (NYSE: HMC) shares rose 1.14 percent to $32.01 in midday trading Thursday.
