“Honey Boo Boo” and some of her family members got into a car crash on Monday night, TMZ reported first, but luckily everyone is OK. Several of the cast members from the TLC hit reality show “Here Come Honey Boo Boo” were injured in the accident, though, a network spokesperson confirmed to Entertainment Weekly.
Alana Thompson, known to reality TV fans as “Honey Boo Boo,” her mother Mama June, Sugar Bear, Pumpkin and Jessica were all involved in the Georgia crash, the site said. Sources revealed they were shopping and the Thompson patriarch, Sugar Bear, was all the wheel of their 2012 Suburban when the accident occurred. He reportedly started to turn and another vehicle came through the intersection and hit their car. The insider added it was the first time anyone in the family had been in a car crash. The unidentified driver was a 19-year-old boy who was allegedly speeding without his lights on, People magazine wrote.
The family was taken to the hospital via ambulance, though they all had minor injuries. “Everyone is bumped and bruised,” the source said. It sounds like the brood is just suffering from a few boo-boos.
Mama June issued a statement on Tuesday after their accident. “As many of you have heard we were in a car accident last night. It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck,” she said, according to EW. “We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin’s birthday. She turned 14 today and no matter how sore we feel we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”
The matriarch of the Thompson family also spoke to People magazine about the wreck. "It happened so quick," Mama June told People on Tuesday. "Before I could say watch out – boom – he had already hit us."

Mama June told the news site she suffered whiplash, along with a back and neck sprain. Sugar Bear also has a back sprain.
Season 3 of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" will start on TLC Jan. 16. Though cameras are still filming, they weren't involved in the accident and weren't filming at the time of the crash, EW added.
