Hong Kong stocks on Wednesday rose again as investors made more gains with oil producer PetroChina Co Ltd ending a five session fall.

Stocks had mixed reactions throughout the day as shares rose in the morning and fell in the afternoon but regained in the later sessions.

Hong Kong listed shares in mainland companies, increased 1.2 percent to 15,638.68 as Hang Seng closed up 1.1 percent at 27,029.26 and PetroChina increased 1.8 percent to HK$13.74.

China Coal rose 3.4 percent to HK$22.70 as Yanzhou Coal ended at 3.1 percent to HK$14.52.

China COSCO increased 3 percent to HK$22.15 while Cathay Pacific Airways fell 1.2 percent to HK$19.68 on worries of a possible strike by the cabin during critical holiday season.

Hong Kong Electric gained 3.4 percent to HK$ 43.55 amid speculations of a tariff hike to be announced Friday.
