Hottest Christmas Toys 2016: Starwars Electronics, 'Dawn Of Justice' Batcave And FurrReal Friends Top Kid's Most-Wanted List

It’s never too early to get the ball rolling on holiday shopping, and Walmart is helping parents stay ahead of the curve with a list featuring some of the hottest items kids all around the world will want to see under their Christmas trees.

With the help of hundreds of kids ranging from 18 months to 12 years old, the world’s largest retailer came up with a Chosen By Kids list of the top 25 toys, games and gizmos that youngsters are looking forward to the most during the 2016 holiday season, Business Wire reported. Many of the items on the list are expected to be some of the season’s best sellers.

“Santa may know who is naughty and nice, but we know what’s on their list,” Anne Marie Kehoe, Walmart U.S.’ vice president of toys, said during a conference call with media outlets on Wednesday. “Santa’s workshop is hard to compete with, but we are confident our assortment hits the mark with kids of all ages – we have playsets, ridealongs, licensed merchandise, even toys that fly. Our customers can count on us to bring the coolest toys at everyday low prices, online and in stores, and enough of them for even the last shopper of the season to take home something that is going to put a smile on a child’s face.”

Although there are still a few months to go before the holiday season arrives, Walmart is hoping their hit list will encourage parents to start their holiday shopping earlier. The retailer has also decided to reboot their lay-away policy, which was phased out in 2006 in all categories except jewelry – to give parents an even better shot at purchasing the items kids desire the most. The lay-away program starts back up Friday.

“While we may think it’s a long time till Christmas, for many customers, it really is a need and a want. So it just gives [shoppers] that time,” Kehoe explained.
