Pop star Pink lost an astonishing 55 pounds before revealing her new bod on the cover of Shape magazine.

The singer admitted that she gained the weight during her pregnancy with her daughter Willow last year.

Pink gave birth to Willow Sage Hart in June 2011, and said she gained nearly 55 pounds from eating a variety of candy and desserts.

“I ate a lot of cheesecake during those nine months. Also anything sour, Sour Skittles, Sour Patch Kids, Key Lime Pie,” she explained.

Pink helped drop the weight by sticking to a consistent gym routine and a mostly vegetarian diet, although she admitted to the occasional fish or chicken, the Daily Mail said.

She told Cosmopolitan that sometimes her diet is even vegan, eating no egg or dairy products at times.

“I’m an athlete, so I have to be strong,” Pink told People in September. “It was hard work.”

The 33-year-old singer songwriter, whose real name is Alecia Moore, explained that even though she looks healthy now, it was always easy for her. She had developed some bad habits when she was younger.

Pink said, “I was nine [when I started smoking]. By the time I turned 12 I was smoking a pack a day. I quit when I got pregnant. Unlike before [Willow was born], cigarettes smell repulsive to me.”

She explained that she felt like a “mess” after she had given birth to her daughter. In order to get back into shape and feel good about herself again, the star started doing about an hour of cardio a day in addition to an hour of strength training or yoga.

The singer explained that she was surprised with all the weight she had put on after having a baby, especially because she is known for an athletic build.

Pink told Cosmopolitan in their June issue:

“I thought I'd feel like a goddess,” she said about her body after having a baby. “They sell you on that s**t ... like you'll never feel more feminine. Really, I just felt like a mess.”

“I kind of enjoyed that too,” she said about gaining weight. “Hell yeah, I gained 55lbs. I think my baby may be part cheesecake.”

After taking a break from work, she explained that she has headed back to the studio.

“I've been in mommy mode, and I'm just starting to get back out there into the real world,” she said. “I've been in the studio recording my new album, so now it feels like everything is falling back into place.”
