The Keating 5 is back! ABC’s knockout 2014 series “How to Get Away With Murder” is returning with more than drama than ever. With another body to cover up, and more mysteries to unfold, Season 2 is gearing up to outdo its explosive freshman season.
When viewers left off, Annalise (Viola Davis) and her group of students were trying to figure out if Rebecca (Katie Findlay) was the one who killed Lila (Megan West) after new evidence emerged. Although Rebecca initially refused to talk, she eventually opened up to Wes (Alfred Enoch) and revealed her side of things. The group had her tied up in the basement but were going to let her go. However, when they went to the basement to free her, she was already gone. The students thought she'd escaped, but Annalise and Frank (Charlie Weber) had her body stashed behind a staircase.
We’re breaking down everything we know about the upcoming installment of the ABC drama before the premiere:
1. Episode 1 Synopsis
It’s time to move on! Season 2 of “How to Get Away With Murder” will kick off with Annalise encouraging her students to continue their lives as if nothing had happened. How hard could that be?
Annalise will follow her own advice by taking on a new case – a brother and sister accused of murdering their parents.
2. Who Killed Rebecca?
3. The Big Season 2 Secret
When Season 2 starts, Annalise wil be doing her best to make sure her students don’t find out that Rebecca is dead! Showrunner Pete Norwalk revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the secret Annalise is keeping will reveal more about her history and introduce someone from her past.
4. New Faces
The old gang is returning, but we can expect to see some new faces this season. Famke Janssen (“Hemlock Grove”) is joining the show as a defense attorney, while Kendrick Sampson (“The Vampire Diaries”) has been cast in a mysterious role.
5. Annalise And Bonnie
Every episode of “How to Get Away With Murder” gives a little insight into the characters' relationships with one another. But one relationship that hasn't been explained is Bonnie and Annalise. Norwalk confirmed to EW that fans will find out how exactly the two know each other.
6. Return Of Rebecca?
Rebecca is dead … but that doesn’t mean she’s off the show. She tweeted a message over the summer that lead some to believe she’s still working on “How to Get Away With Murder.” One theory is that the series will continue to use flashbacks as a device to tell who murdered her … and maybe even what “Eggs 911” is.
“How to Get Away With Murder” Season 2 premieres on ABC on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 10 p.m. EDT.
