HTC has silently launched a new smartphone under “One” series dubbed “HTC One S9.” This device is currently available in Germany. However, at this point, we do not have any information available to ascertain the release outside Europe.

The HTC One S9 looks identical to the 2015 flagship HTC One M9 with regard to exterior design, complete with metallic build. But then, the configurations onboard clearly points to an upper-mid-range handset.

Speaking of price, the One S9 can be availed for 500 euros, which roughly translates to $565, Phone Arena reported. In comparison, the recently released flagship HTC 10 costs $699 with top-of-the-shelf configurations onboard.

As for specifications, the HTC One S9 features a 5.0-inch super LCD display, packed with a Full HD resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. This combination translates to a pixel density of 443 ppi. This handset comes with two front-facing speakers and it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with HTC Sense UI on top of it.

Under the hood, MediaTek’s Helio X10 chip powers the handset with 2 GB of RAM backing it. It sports a 13-megapixel primary camera unit and an UltraPixel snapper at the front. The main camera supports OIS and 4K video recording.

Apart from the standard connectivity options, this smartphone also supports 4G LTE and NFC. Being a HTC device, it goes without saying that the One S9 comes with HTC BoomSound enhanced by Dolby Audio.

Battery-wise, a modest 2,840 mAh cell helps keep the lights on. HTC says this cell can provide up to 13 hours of 3G talk time and up to 658 hours of 3G stand-by time.

The HTC One S9 comes equipped with 16 GB of built-in storage space and microSD card support for expansion of up to 2 TB. This device weighs 158 g and it is 10.9 mm thick.
