To his fans, George Clooney could be one of the best on-screen gunfighters of Hollywood. But the actor says he is scared of guns.

Contactmusic.com quoted the celebrated star of Oceans Eleven, The Perfect Storm and Syriana as saying that firearms scare him: Guns, rifles - there's something frightening about them. Although I've grown up with them in Kentucky and have used them in a lot of my films, I'm still scared of them.

Clooney also talks about the thoughts of losing his looks as he gets older. He thinks his advancing years will help him get offers to do diverse characters on screen.

I'm literally aging before your faces. I'm not vain though. I welcome it, the aging. Otherwise I would have colored my hair by now. Of course I'm not offered the role of the romantic hero that often anymore, but at my age I get to do more and more character roles, he says.

Being hugely successful in a certain role or genre comes with the risk of being typecast. So far I have been lucky - in moderation, he adds.

Clooney will be seen next in The Descendants and Suburbicon.
