The Detroit Lions were hoping to make a second straight playoff appearance in 2012. With a 4-7 record and a probable finish in last place, they have now been relegated to playing the role of spoiler.

On Sunday, Detroit will look to disrupt the Indianapolis Colts postseason plans. The Lions will host the contest at 1 p.m. ET on CBS. You can watch a live stream online by purchasing NFL Sunday Ticket Max.

The Colts are 7-4, and in position to claim a wild card spot in the AFC. Indy has been one of the pleasant surprises in 2012, with Andrew Luck leading the team to several close victories.

Despite the teams’ records, the Lions are heavy favorites to pick up the victory. Detroit is favored by seven points at home, even though they are three games worse than their opponent.

Detroit has lost its last three games, but their best player has gotten back on track. Calvin Johnson has had at least 129 receiving yards in his past four games, including a 207-yard performance in Week 10 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Prediction: The Colts have made a living winning close games this season. Where Indianapolis has thrived, Detroit has struggled. If it is a close contest in the fourth quarter, Indy will have the advantage.

Predicted Score: Indianapolis 24, Detroit 20
