Apple iPhone 4S Boasts 3 Million Pre-Orders on Eve of iOS 5 UK Release
With Apple's iOS 5 operating system's release just hours away, news has broken that the company's highly anticipated iPhone 4S has broken the three million pre-order sales mark in its opening week. Apple

Apple's new iPhone 4S will be available in Apple Stores from Friday, and the same day, customers who pre-ordered the new smartphone will get the product in their hands.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has done a lot on the new phone to make it a world phone.

Though not talked about much in the media releases and review columns, one biggest advantage iPhone 4S has is its unlocked version.

The unlocked version, which will be available from November this year, will be a hit as till date people traveling overseas very frequently avoided the iPhone because of higher international roaming rates. For frequent travelers, the unlocked version is going to be the best option.

According to a statement on Apple's Web site, the unlocked iPhone includes all the features of iPhone but without a contract commitment.

A user can activate and use it on the supported GSM wireless network of his choice, such as AT&T in the U.S.

The unlocked iPhone 4S will not work with CDMA-based carriers.

If a user doesn't want a multiyear service contract or if he prefers to use a local carrier when traveling abroad, the unlocked iPhone is the best choice.

The price of unlocked iPhone 4S is higher than the phone with contract, but the version will save dollars of international roaming.

The 16 GB model is available for $649 whereas the 32 and 64 GB models are available for $749 and $849, respectively.

With Apple's new approach of selling unlocked phones without any wireless contract, the buyers, who travel abroad very frequently and could not earlier use the iPhone because of this particular reason, will now look towards iPhone 4S as an option.
