Details are emerging about the death of Ivana Trump, the first wife of former President Donald Trump. Ivana Trump was found dead Thursday afternoon at her New York home at age 73.

While the official cause of death has yet to be determined, early reports from authorities said that Ivana Trump likely suffered a cardiac arrest.

New York City police had done a wellness check on Ivana Trump at her Manhattan townhouse on 10 E. 64th St. The NYPD is investigating whether she had fallen down stairs.

The New York Times reported that one official had said that there was no sign at her home of a forced entry and that the death appeared to be accidental.

“Her health has been in decline over the past few years,” a source told the New York Post.

“Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend," her children — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump — posted on Facebook.

On Thursday, Eric Trump was seen getting into a vehicle with his wife Lara Trump. When asked by a reporter if he had a statement, Eric Trump replied: "It's been a very sad day, guys -- a very sad day."

On his social media platform, Donald Trump posted: “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”

“Rest In Peace, Ivana!” he added.

After her divorce from Donald Trump in 1992, Ivana Trump married and divorced two more times. In 1995, she married Italian businessman Riccardo Mazzucchelli and in 2008 she married Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi.
