“Jane the Virgin” star Justin Baldoni appears to enjoy teasing fans about the show’s characters. That, or he just loves taking selfies with his co-stars.

A lot of things don’t seem to feel right in the show after Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) was killed off midseason. The show immediately jumped three years after his death, and the characters have changed. Some of them still feel familiar, such as Alba (Ivonne Col) and Xo (Andrea Navedo), although they haven’t been given much screentime. But Rogelio Dela Vega (Jamie Camil) has changed somewhat, while Mr. “Sweet Face” Mateo changed a great deal, too.

However, a lot of mystery surrounds Rafael Solano (Baldoni) and his former wife, Petra (Yael Grobglas). It seems like they’ve been keeping a lot of secrets, and in the latest episode, some of them were finally revealed.

Apparently, Petra had something to do with Scott’s death, and she even moved his body from the Marbella to the Fairwick in order to avoid getting bad publicity for her newly-rebranded hotel. Rafael, on the other hand, has some shady dealings with his prison buddy.

Does this have something to do with Sin Rostro (Susanna Barnett)? Baldoni seemed to tease this possibility when he posted a photo with Barnett and his onscreen sister, Yara Martinez, who plays Dr. Luisa Alver.

Baldoni also took a selfie with Grobglas and Minka Kelly, who plays Rafael’s new girlfriend, Abby Whitman.

The show’s narrator has failed to introduce Abby properly, and more often than not, he seems to forget that she’s even in the picture. This might mean that Rafael and Abby’s relationship is nothing more than a sham or that their relationship is not exciting enough to be the focus of a telenovela.

Whatever the case, Baldoni told Entertainment Tonight that fans will get their answers in the next couple of episodes. “The Abby character is hilarious and you’ll see where it’s going in a few episodes. It’s a very fun story and it’s interesting to see what happens between her and Rafael, and the dynamic between the two baby mamas,” he said.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 airs every Monday at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
