Famous former Bachelor and single father Jason Mesnick got engaged to Molly Malaney after he proposed to her in New Zealand, according to People Magazine.

The couple who met on the TV reality show The Bachelor, began their long-distance relationship amid dramatic public humiliation last spring.

On the show, Mesnick had dumped Malaney to marry another contestant Melissa Rycroft. But at the show's special After the Final Rose episode he had a change of heart.

He dumped the engagement to Rycroft on national television declaring he loved Malaney whom he had rejected. Rycroft called him a bastard in the episode, gave him the ring back and left the set.

Right after Malaney was called to the set so Mesnick could declare his love for her also in public. The episode made headlines all around the entertainment media.
