Jay-Z's official fan page bigged up the Brooklyn Nets Tuesday by sending the team's new logo out to 13 million of the rapper's fans on Facebook.

The official Jay-Z fan page sent out the message Welcome the Brooklyn Nets, accompanied by the team's new black-and-white logo on Tuesday afternoon, providing an introduction to Jigga's new hometown NBA basketball team.

Hov is a partial owner of the Brooklyn Nets franchise, and he is a long-time basketball fan who has long provided inspiration to his good friend LeBron James, the Miami Heat's superstar franchise player.

And now that the team is coming to his town, where he had a hardscrabble youth growing up in the gritty Marcy Houses projects but was able to launch the most succesful career in the history of hip-hop, he has been promoting them and rocking their logo.

So it only makes sense that the official Jay-Z Facebook fan page would distribute an image of the Brooklyn Nets logo to its legion of rap fans.

Jay-Z was once just a budding emcee, but he is now at the top of a wide-ranging empire that includes not only his rap album sales and basketball team interests, but also his Rocawear clothing line and Roc-A-Fela music label.

The Brooklyn Nets franchise also recently released the first photographs of what their jerseys, hats and other attire will look like. They will be playing in the new Barclays Center arena in beautiful Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, which is currently under construction but slated to open later this year.
