We have witnessed the benefits of being in Jennifer Hudson’s inner circle -- she gave her assistant the ultimate Christmas gift of a new home. But eyewitnesses at the People’s Choice Awards say they saw a different side of the Oscar Winner.

Radar Online reports that the singer caused quite the ruckus on Wednesday night’s when she had security toss an ex-friend out of his front row seat at the ceremony. Hudson was honored with the Favorite Humanitarian Award at the 40th Annual People’s Choice Awards, but witnesses say she seemed more concerned about of rapper Lord Kraven’s presence at the show.

“Jennifer loudly threatened ‘Either he leaves or I leave,’ and was waving her finger in the face of a security guard,” the source told Radar Online. Kraven was then removed from his chair at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, and “the situation continued to escalate outside the main auditorium and required the assistance of LAPD.”

The source added that an LAPD came to Lord Kraven’s aid, determining that the Nokia Theatre security team shouldn’t have removed him, offering to escort Lord Kraven back to his seat. The source said that the pair were once close friends, but that they had a major falling out after Lord Kraven appeared on HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight” during the 2012 murder trial of Hudson’s family.
