The 2016 Golden Globe Awards had a bit of competition this year between two of Hollywood’s most popular women. With friends Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence nominated in the same category, the women shared a classy hug after a winner was chosen.

Schumer, who was nominated for her critically acclaimed comedy “Trainwreck,” lost to her gal pal Lawrence for her performance in the movie “Joy” for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. The moment could have caused a rift between the two actresses, or even tragically ended their incredibly adorable friendship, but it didn’t. Instead, the two women decided to keep it classy and hug it out.

As seen in the gif above, when the news was announced, Lawrence , 25, immediately turned to her friend and competitor and offered a very loving hug, which the 34-year-old funnywoman graciously accepted. As Entertainment Weekly notes, this wasn’t the first time the two women demonstrated their friendship during the 73rd annual Golden Globes. They came out and did a short routine about being women in Hollywood before presenting one of the night’s many awards together. The win marks the third Golden Globe for Lawrence, who won in 2013 for "Silver Linings Playbook" and again in 2014 for “American Hustle.”
