Fashion designer Jessica Simpson is abusing pills and alcohol and now her husband, former NFL player Eric Johnson, is threatening to take their children away unless she goes to rehab, Radar Online wrote in an exclusive report Thursday. Simpson’s apparent addiction came under scrutiny after she appeared goofier than normal during a segment on HSN.

But her problem came to a head months ago. “He is worried sick that Jess’ conduct is going to start affecting their two children and that their oldest is starting to realize there’s something wrong with Mommy,” a source told Radar Online. “Things reached a climax in early May, when Eric told Jess he has had enough and issued his ultimatum.”

Some publications have praised Simpson for her extra-slender frame, but it’s not because of healthy habits. The starlet chases Adderall, a prescription medicine used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), with scotch to keep her 5-foot-3 figure under 93 pounds, Radar Online wrote.

The petite businesswoman is in “complete denial” about using Adderall as a diet drug, Life & Style magazine wrote in June. “One minute she’s fine and the next minute she’s talking nonsense and acting all crazy,” a source said.

Her family, including sister Ashlee Simpson and mother Tina Simpson, want her to get help. Her mom even suggested they go to rehab together. “Tina sees it as a win-win for mother and daughter,” the insider told Life & Style. “Going to rehab with Jessica means she can kill two birds with one stone.”

Even though Simpson, 35, seemed kooky on her HSN segment last week, the shopping network said it was a pleasure to have her. "It was fun to have Jessica make her HSN debut with her mother, Tina, last night,” the network told People magazine in a statement Sept. 18. “We were happy to host them and thrilled with the way customers responded to the collection."
