It was announced last week that comedian Jim Carrey will join the cast of NBC's The Office for a 50-minute finale special.

Carrey is the latest addition to an already star-filled finale. The series creator, Ricky Gervais, will star in the finale alongside Ray Romano, James Spader and Catherine Tate.

This season finale marks the end of Steve Carell's character, Michael Scott. Carell has been a part of the show for seven seasons. As the season finale is approaching, rumors are starting to circulate the Internet on who will replace him as regional branch manager at Dunder Mifflin.

Will Ferrell has appeared on the show as DeAngelo Vickers, the new manager that Michael Scott is training. It is unclear whether Ferrell will continue next season as the office manager.

Paul Lieberstein, the show's executive producer, recently revealed that current stars of the show are also in the running for the part.

The show sans-Steve it's a whole new show so we're actually really excited, said John Krasinski who plays Jim Halpert on the show.

The last two episodes this year are without Steve and without Will and they were awesome. They were really, really fun and as much as we will miss Steve for sure it's kind of great to pick up this show in a whole different way. It's really fun.
