Jodie Foster stirred up a lot of comments from Daily Beast readers after defending Kristen Stewart in an article.

While everyone else seems to be on "team Rob" [Pattinson],Jodie Foster is letting it be known that she is on Kristen Stewart's side, loud and clear, after she wrote an op-ed piece for The Daily Beast that was published early Wednesday morning.

Stewart has been trying to stay out of the limelight ever since news broke that she was having an affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, 41-year-old and married Rupert Sanders.

Both Stewart and Sanders issued public apologies to the ones that they loved, but instead of gaining sympathy, the ex-lovers seem to have created a media frenzy.

Kristen's fellow "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson has been laying low ever since he got the devastating news that his girlfriend of three years had been running around his back. But Pattinson was forced out of hiding to promote his new movie, "Cosmopolis" and appeared on both "Good Morning America" and "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart.

Though both of the stars are being hounded by cameras because of Stewart's "momentary indiscretion," K-Stew is experiencing the brunt of it.

But Foster wants Stewart to know that "this too shall pass."

"Eventually this all passes. The public horrors of today eventually blow away," Foster wrote. "And, yes, you are changed by the awful wake of reckoning they leave behind. You trust less. You calculate your steps. You survive. Hopefully in the process you don't lose your ability to throw your arms in the air again and spin in wild abandon. That is the ultimate F.U. and finally the most beautiful survival tool of all. Don't let them take that away from you."

She added, "If I were a young actor today I would quit before I started. If I had to grow up in this media culture, I don't think I could survive it emotionally."

Foster's defense of Stewart stirred up nearly 450 comments after her op-ed piece was published for just about 12 hours.

The comments that followed the article were mixed but very opinionated and often long winded. Foster's defense of Stewart seemed to catch many off guard.

Mandyinseattle was one who agreed with Foster, "Good for Jodie for sticking up for a friend and so sensitively and eloquently. Kristen Stewart seems very authentic. That's what makes her such a good actor. She is also 22 years old, barely out of childhood. Her fling is a 40-something year old married man with children. Who should know better - him or her?"

Hypocritically, some of the users who were bashing Foster for defending Stewert neglected to acknowledge that Sanders was an also adulterer who cheated on his wife, and family too.

Proudwife wrote, "You have got to be kidding me!!! This girl had an affair with a married man who has children...where is your sympathy for them? You are disgusting if you think that kristin stewart should be pittied or given any sympathy. She did a horrible thing and deserves what she is getting. Shame on you for trying to defend this. this is the most pathetic thing I have ever heard. She is just a little tramp who slept with her boss and got busted, period."
