John McAfee, in a Guatemalan prison since his arrival Wednesday, suffered two heart attacks Thursday and was rushed to a hospital, his lawyer said.

According to the anti-virus software mogul's lawyer, he suffered two mild heart attacks as he was detained in an immigration service station, reports Reuters. McAfee was found unresponsive and rushed to a hospital in Guatemala City, reports ABC News.

McAfee is wanted for questioning in the shooting death of his neighbor in Belize. He fled Belize but was very visible despite being on the lam, giving interviews to CNN and ABC and keeping his own blog. It wasn't until a photo that was run by Vice Magazine that McAfee's location in Guatemala was discovered. Two days later McAfee was arrested.

Before his heart attack, McAfee reported having chest pains. Upon arrival at the hospital, nurses were about to remove his clothing when McAfee regained consciousness and said, “Please, not in front of the press,” reports ABC News.

McAfee was scheduled to be deported to Belize, where he is wanted for questioning by police. On Wednesday, McAfee was denied asylum in Guatemala, and his deportation was set for Thursday.

Throughout his time on the run, McAfee said he did not feel safe in Belize and that gangs and corrupt police were out to kill him. In Belize, police could detain McAfee as they question him for up to 48 hours. Raphael Martinez, a spokesman for the Belize government, said, “There is more that we know about the investigation, but that remains part of the police work,” which ABC News believes meant that McAfee could be officially charged.

On his blog, McAfee made one last plea to stay in Guatemala, saying, “Now for the first time, I am asking for support for me. Please email the President of Guatemala and beg him to allow the court system to proceed, to determine my status in Guatemala, and please support the political asylum that I am asking for. Please PLEASE be very POLITE in your communications, and I thank you.”
