Actor John Travolta acknowledged Wednesday that his son Jett, 16 who died in January, had autism and suffered from a seizure disorder.

Travolta made his declaration in a Bahamas court during a trial of two people accused of trying to extort $25 million from the film star.

At the trial which he attended with wife Kelly Preston, Travolta said his son suffered seizures every 5 to 10 days and described the jury how desperately he tried to save his son's life on January 2.

I ran downstairs with my wife to help my son, Travolta, 55 told the jury today, according to the New York Daily News. He reportedly performed CPR to his son and provided mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater are charged with trying to extort $25 million from Travolta threatening to release a document about Jett's treatment.
