Game of Thrones Dany
Will Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) take back the Iron Throne in the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 finale? HBO

There are over 40 shows premiering in June, and networks need to make room for all the new programming. That means fans are going to have to say goodbye to some of their favorite shows.

Quite a few shows with cult followings will air season finales this month. “Game of Thrones” Season 6 will wrap up at the end of the month. With spoilers being locked down more than ever, it’s impossible to predict what will happen. But knowing “GoT,” it’s fair to say that some bloodshed will be involved on the HBO drama. Other fan favorites with season finales include “Orphan Black,” “The Americans” and “Penny Dreadful.”

Of course, those shows aren’t saying goodbye for the last time. They’ll return next year, but others aren’t so lucky. “Person of Interest” will solve their final mystery this year. Though the “POI” writers didn’t have confirmation that they were canceled, executive producer Greg Plageman said they opted to write their Season 5 finale like a series finale, just in case.

“Jonah [Nolan, executive producer] and I made the decision at the beginning of the year that this was probably it; we should write to that,” Plageman told IGN. “And I think that in some ways is a gift, certainly on broadcast television, because most people don't know, as witnessed from a number shows that got a sudden cancelation these past few weeks.” “House of Lies” and “The Soul Man” will also have series finales in June.
