Kaley Cuoco recently met an adorable mutt named Zeus that is training to become a service dog soon.

On her Instagram account, Cuoco posted a photo of herself hugging Zeus. She also revealed that Zeus is one of the dogs being trained under Paw Works’ new program. Cuoco then reminded her millions of followers to consider adopting instead of buying pets.

Earlier this week, the actress also posted a video with one of her adopted dogs, Ruby. In the clip, Cuoco massages Ruby’s eyes and head, and the dog seems to be enjoying it.

Throughout the past couple of years, Cuoco has been adopting dogs and giving them their permanent home. However, there were several instances wherein Cuoco had to say goodbye to her dogs. In 2015, the actress shared that her dog of 16 years, Petey, had died. Petey was the first dog that Cuoco ever had, and he was given to her as a sweet 16 present by her boyfriend at the time.

A week later, Cuoco revealed that another one of her dogs, Chester, also passed away. The actress shared that when she adopted Chester, she had no idea what condition he might have had. Despite her loss, Cuoco said that she was happy to have spent some with Chester no matter how short it was.

At present, Cuoco has at least three adopted dogs at home, namely, Ruby, Norman and Shirley. All three dogs were adopted by Cuoco through the help of Paw Works. The non-profit animal rescue organization in California promotes the adoption of various animals in partnership with county and city shelters. Cuoco serves as one of their spokespersons.
