Kara Vandereyk, a Las Vegas woman, was arrested on Tuesday after police found her having sex with a pit bull dog in her yard in front of her neighbors.

Police said they found 23-year-old Vandereyk around 11 a.m. having sex with a dog in the yard of a home in Sin City.

According to the arrest report released on Wednesday, police said Vandereyk was naked and on the ground when they arrived. By the time Vandereyk saw the officers, she greeted them saying, “Hi,” and touched the dog sexually, police said.

Vandereyk was given a blanket to cover up when she arrested and booked, charged with open and gross lewdness. She was also given clothing by a neighbor before she was taken to the Clark County Jail.

In Nevada, bestiality is not prohibited by law, but another law deems animal abuse and cruelty a felony.

The pit bull dog was taken by animal control officers.

Authorities said Vandereyk appeared to be on drugs or mentally ill, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, since she did not know her name, the year or the name of the U.S. president. Police said she admitted that she has bipolar disorder and had taken prescription medication before the incident.
