Happy Birthday, Kate Bosworth! The actress who surfed to victory in Blue Crush and captured the Man of Steel's heart in Superman Returns is 29 years old.

Bosworth is not yet 30, but she already has an impressive resume that includes big-budget films and smaller, indie movies. She played an MIT math whiz in 21 with Kevin Spacey and British hunk Jim Sturgess. For Blue Crush, she bulked up to play a hardcore surfer.

Bosworth has taken on more low-profile roles over the past couple of years. She appeared in the 2010 movie The Warrior's Way. The film flopped, but Bosworth gushed about the filming experience and even picked up some interesting skills.

I picked up knife-throwing and knife-fighting for the movie, but I have to admit I haven't kept up with it, she told AskMen.com. I don't think I'll be impressing anyone with my knife-throwing skills any time soon.

She has several films lined up for a 2012 release, including Serpent Girl with Malin Akerman, thriller Black Rock and While We Were Here. She is also designing jewelry, selling the creations she makes with her design partner on JewelMint.com.

Bosworth has come under scrutiny for her slim frame, but insisted in a 2008 interview with Vogue magazine that whenever anything happens that's very painful or stressful, we all lose weight -- my mother, my aunt, my grandmother.

Here are photos of Bosworth and her chic style.
