Kate Middleton is on a vacation in south west France with her husband Prince William and children Prince George and Princess Charlotte. For their stay, the royal family chose a luxury five star hotel, which was home to 19th century emperor Napoleon III, according to a latest report.

French newspaper Sud Ouest, cited by Daily Mirror, reported that Middleton, with her family, stayed for a night at the Hotel du Palais in seaside town of Biarritz. It was once the summer palace of Napoleon III and his wife Eugenie de Montijo. The hotel boasts, on its website, of being “rich in memories, style and history.”

Middleton and William arrived in France last Tuesday and are reportedly also planning to stay with friends for a large part of their holiday.

The royals appear to be busy this year as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, have reportedly decided to skip Rio 2016 Olympics, which is slated to start Friday. The trio has several other trips scheduled for the coming weeks.

“It was under consideration at some point that some or one of them might go, but for a whole range of reasons they are not going,” a royal source told Hello! magazine.
