Prince George is going to school today, but it looks like his mom, Kate Middleton, won't be able to drop him off on his first day.

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton have been planning to accompany their eldest child on his first day of school. Unfortunately, since the Duchess of Cambridge has been feeling sick since her third pregnancy was confirmed, she might not be able to drop off Prince George to school with her husband.

A source told People that Middleton might not be able to accompany Prince George on his first day of school on Thursday. "[There is a] fair chance that she will not be able to attend tomorrow," the source told the publication.

The Kensington Palace announced earlier in a statement that Middleton and Prince William will accompany Prince George on his first day of school. "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanying Prince George, will be met on arrival at the school by the Head of Lower School, Helen Haslem, who will then escort Their Royal Highnesses to Prince George's reception classroom," the palace said.

However, following Middleton's third pregnancy and condition, the palace released another statement suggesting that the pregnant royal may not be able to go to Thomas's Battersea, Prince George's school, with them.

"Like any mother she would be keen to be there for the Prince George's first day of school, but we will have to wait and see how she is and a decision will be made nearer the time," the palace said in a statement (via People).

This does not come as a surprise as it has been revealed earlier that Middleton currently suffers from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. She also suffered from the same condition when she was pregnant with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

When Middleton's pregnancy with royal baby No. 3 was announced on Monday, Kensington Palace also disclosed that the Duchess of Cambridge canceled her scheduled engagements that day due to severe morning sickness. In addition, Variety noted that Middleton also missed her Tuesday appointment. Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry were supposed to meet the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

If Middleton will not be able to make it, Prince William will still be there for Prince George so the 4-year-old will have at least one of his parents by his side when he attends his new school.
