Kate Middleton and Prince William’s bridesmaid, Lady Louise, recently broke her leg while vacationing in St. Moritz in the Alps.

A source told People that the 14-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, broke her right leg after she slipped. The teenager was vacationing in the Alps with her parents, as well as her brother, James, Viscount Severn, 10.

Even though a royal insider refused to comment on the accident, Lady Louise was spotted walking on the snow with her crutches. A photo of Prince Edward and Sophie wearing the ski gear on was shared online via The Telegraph.

In 2016, Lady Louise was featured in special portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The 90th birthday portrait was taken by Annie Leibovitz at the Green Drawing Room of Windsor Castle on March 28, 2016.

The photo shows the queen carrying Princess Charlotte on her lap, while Prince George stood close beside them. Lady Louise is standing at the back right of the queen since she’s the tallest in the group.

“It was a lovely jolly affair. It was very relaxed,” a source told People at that time.

When asked why the queen took a photo with her two youngest grandchildren, as well as her five great grandchildren, the source said that there was really no “particular logic” about the photo. “It was felt to have just the younger ones,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Lady Louise was only 7 years old when she became a bridesmaid at Prince William and Middleton’s wedding. Years later, she started taking on some royal responsibilities on behalf of her family. In 2016, she went on an official visit to Bristol Zoo with her parents and younger brother.

In 2015, Sophie revealed that her daughter’s “profound squint” has been fixed. Lady Louise was born prematurely, so her eyes were affected. “Her squint was quite profound when she was tiny and it takes times to correct it. You’ve got to make sure one eye doesn’t become more dominant than the other but she’s fine now – her eyesight is perfect,” Sophie said.
