Kate Middleton -- revered one of the greatest fashion icons of 2011 -- has made her swimsuit debut, sporting a blue and white bikini on her holiday in Mustique.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have taken a retreat to the privately owned Mustique Caribbean Island, where they are staying with the Middleton family at a £15,000-a-week luxury Aurora villa, the Daily Mail reported. The villa is owned by Hedgefund manager Mark Ceci, a family friend of the Middletons.

The royal visit, which also included Middleton's parents, younger brother and sister, has caused some upheaval on the island after restrictions have been applied to other holiday guests in an effort to increase security measures for the royals.

Those wishing to dine at one of the island's two hotels have been asked to use transportation provided by the hotel, the Daily Mail reported. They are also restricted from using the island's golf carts so as to prevent visitors from photographing the royals.

Guests have also reportedly been randomly stopped on the beach and asked questions.

'This isn't exactly the way one expects to be treated when you pay very good money to visit the most exclusive island in the Caribbean, a local millionaire told the Daily Mail.

While the royals have been keeping a low profile on the island, Kate and Pippa Middleton was spotted alongside Prince William on a boat gearing up to do some water sports. Pippa Middleton was photographed in a Lotty B swimsuit, according to Styleite. Lotty B is designed by Lotty Bunbury, who is apparently wife of Mustique's resident doctor.
