Kate Middleton attended the BBC's annual Sports Personality Of The Year Awards on Sunday, her first public appearance since being hospitalized with morning sickness.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a green Alexander McQueen dress, black Jimmy Choo heels, Kiki McDonough blue topaz earrings, and an Asprey button pendant.
Middleton presented two awards, the sports personality of the year award to Olympic cyclist, Bradley Wiggins, alongside soccer star, David Beckham, and the lifetime achievement award to Olympic runner and chairman of the British Olympic Association, Sebastian Coe, the Associated Press reported.
A St. James’ Palace spokesperson released a statement to People magazine before the awards show.
“The Duchess of Cambridge will tonight attend the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Awards at the ExCeL London, where Her Royal Highness will present the Lifetime Achievement and the main Sports Personality of the Year Awards. The Duchess will attend the event in response to a longstanding invitation from the BBC,” the spokesperson said.
The Duchess attended the event alone and left within an hour, the New York Daily News said. She did not make a public statement, and only conversed with the honorees at the awards show.
Middleton has canceled four public appearances since being hospitalized for Hyperemesis Gravidarum on Dec. 3, including "The Hobbit" premiere last week, which Prince William attended alone, the Huffington Post said. She remained in the hospital for three days.
Hollywood Life suggested that the beginnings of a baby bump was visible beneath her elegant 70's style gown.
