Kate Middleton is known worldwide for her impeccable style. But ahead of her April trip to Australia, the royal will reportedly be adopting a more conservative look. Reuters

There may be sartorial trouble brewing in England, and Kate Middleton appears to be the culprit.

According to Britain's Mail on Sunday, Queen Elizabeth II has requested that Kate Middleton trade her short skirts and dresses for more conservative looks with longer hemlines. The publication details that during an upcoming trip to Australia, Middleton will “deploy a couture wardrobe of day dresses with lower hemlines than she has previously favored.”

While many fans of Kate's beloved style are in opposition to the Queen's reported decree, several fashionistas are embracing the Duchess-led change -- proof that the Kate Effect is truly limitless. And eBay has revealed that after news broke of the Queen's request for less-leggy outfits from Kate, the site tracked a 30 percent decrease in popularity for fashion searches for above-the-knee dresses.

So fashion lovers breathe easy. It appears the Royal Family's most stylish member is poised to continue her trendsetting reign. Oh, and Queen Elizabeth can now add stylist to her resume -- illustrated perfectly in eBay's amazing GIF below.
