Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet has opened up about how she regrets working with filmmakers like Woody Allen and Roman Polanski during her illustrious career.

Speaking in an interview with Vanity Fair, the 44-year-old superstar shared a lot of specific details about her career and also talked about working with two filmmakers (Allen and Polanski) who have been accused of sexual misconduct and rape. Winslet said that it is still “unbelievable” to understand that people like them held such high regard for so long in this industry.

The “Revolutionary Road” star said that it’s “disgraceful” that Hollywood respected these men for so long.

“ It’s like, what the [explicit] was I doing working with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski? It’s unbelievable to me now how those men were held in such high regard, so widely in the film industry and for as long as they were. It’s fucking disgraceful,” Vanity Fair quoted Winslet, as saying.

The esteemed actress also shared she has to “take responsibility” for working with them in the past and it is something that she “regrets” so much.

“And I have to take responsibility for the fact that I worked with them both. I can’t turn back the clock. I’m grappling with those regrets but what do we have if we aren’t able to just be fucking truthful about all of it? ” Winslet said.

Winslet worked with Allen in the 2017 movie “Wonder Wheel” while she was a part of Polanski’s film named “Carnage.” The actor was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actress category in 2012.

In 2014, Allen’s daughter Dylan Farrow made sexual assault charges against him and claimed that the filmmaker molested her after he and actress Mia Farrow adopted her at the age of seven. On the other hand, Polanski was arrested and convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl named Samantha Geimer. The director fled to France before the sentencing and remained there ever since.

As far as Winslet is concerned, she will be next seen in Francis Lee’s movie “Ammonite.” The cast includes Academy Award-nominated star Saoirse Ronan, Emmy-nominated actress Fiona Shaw, and Gemma Jones.

The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 13.
