‘The Walking Dead’
A more mature and confident Enid (Katelyn Nacon) will be introduced in “The Walking Dead” Season 8. AMC

Katelyn Nacon recently shared some “crazy” details about her character Enid’s fate in AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Season 8.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Nacon said that Enid will become very much involved in the upcoming episodes. In fact, the once young girl who tried so hard to stay out of trouble will now be ready to fight.

“She’s definitely a bigger part of the community and the fight and everything. She doesn’t want to just sit by or be by herself. She’s not just looking out for herself anymore. She’s made connections with people now, which in previous episodes in the season, she was very adamant about not doing, but now you see her start to actually become a part of the community and the army and everything, and she really wants to help, and she really wants to win this,” she said.

According to Nacon, Enid will continue to share multiple scenes with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Carl (Chandler Riggs). In Season 7, Enid and Maggie start developing a close relationship especially the latter taught the former so many things. And since Enid will come to terms with her own self and the things that she can do, she will start applying the things she learned from her friend in her day to day experiences.

Enid and Carl also had the chance to bond last season, and they related to each other well because they experienced very similar things. “I feel like Carl and Enid are very much like kindred spirits. I feel like they very much are relatable to each other and have been through so many of the same things and see the world in such a similar way,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nacon also dished on how different Season 8 will be from Season 7. According to the newly-appointed series regular, there will be more hope in the upcoming episodes. However, Season 8 will continue to be “sad” since “The Walking Dead” is a “sad show.”

“There’s going to be war, but I feel like there’s a lot more courage and a lot more hope that shows up in each character. They’re wanting to win this…” she said.

“The Walking Dead” Season 8 will premiere on AMC on Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. EDT.
