Katie Cleary’s estranged husband, Andrew Stern, committed suicide by shooting himself in Van Nuys, Calif., on Sunday, TMZ reported Tuesday, amid rumors about the model's closeness to Leonardo DiCaprio and Adrian Grenier.

Stern’s suicide follows only weeks after Cleary, a former contestant on “America’s Next Top Model,” was reportedly spotted getting cozy with DiCaprio and “Entourage” star Grenier. Intimate photos of the “Deal or No Deal” model reportedly surfaced in May, leading reports to speculate that Cleary's alleged affairs could be linked to Stern's suicide, as investigations showed the 40-year-old businessman had been "suffering significant stress over marital problems."

However, on Tuesday, a representative for Cleary said that Stern's death had nothing to do with Cleary's friendship with DiCaprio and Grenier.

"Katie and Andrew have been separated and in the process of finalizing their divorce for a few months and her relationship with Leonardo and Adrian were simply platonic as she was there to promote her animal welfare documentary Give Me Shelter,” the representative told E! News. “We respectfully request her privacy be given at this difficult time and have no more comments on this matter."

Last month, Cleary was reportedly spotted with DiCaprio at a nightclub in Cannes, and was also spotted with Grenier during an outing while she was in France. A source close to DiCaprio told TMZ that the actor and Cleary were not together as the 39-year-old actor left the establishment with his girlfriend, Toni Garrn.

According to reports, Stern had filed for a divorce from Cleary in April and the two had separated eight months ago, reportedly due to irreconcilable differences.

A close friend and spokesperson also told Us Weekly that he was aware of “Andrew's longtime struggle with depression” and that “any rumors of any kind of extra-marital relationship are entirely fabricated and completely false.”
