Kendall Jenner is causing a stir on Instagram and Twitter as she shared a photo of herself with a large tattoo on her back Monday.

However, the tattoo is not real, but rather done with a Sharpie marker; Sharpie tattoos are apparently very popular among teenagers, according to the Daily Mail.

The tattoo depicts a large skull wearing what looks like a Native American headdress across her right shoulder and much of her back, according to the gossip website.

The impressive artwork was done by Nat Wood, an artist and designer at Badwood Apparel Company in Los Angeles, Calif.

“Thank you @badwoodx for the amazing sharpie tat! I loveeeee you're amaz!,” the 17-year-old said along with the photo, which received more than 13,000 comments on Instagram.

Wood draws similar sketches for the shirts and hoodies sold from Badwood.

This is not the first time Kendall has shared provocative photos via social media. In September 2012, she notably shared a photo on Instagram and Twitter of herself wearing a tiny black and pink bikini, captioned “I've got a bow on my tush.”

This left many wondering if it was appropriate for such young celebrities to share such revealing photos of themselves online.

Ireland Baldwin, the 16-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, also shared a bikini photo of herself around that time.
