Residents of the affluent seaside community of Marina del Rey in California are suing reality television stars Khloe Kardashian and mother Kris Jenner for last Wednesday’s disruptive fireworks. Kardashian faced criticism for organizing the extravagant fireworks display to celebrate her rumored boyfriend James Harden’s birthday.

Twelve residents of Marina del Rey will file a lawsuit for claims of $7,500 each against Kardashian and Jenner for carrying out the 15-minute fireworks display, TMZ reported Monday. The residents alleged that the fireworks caused them emotional distress. One resident reportedly said her child ''freaked out," while another claimed her multiple sclerosis deteriorated since the fireworks show.

People filing the lawsuit claimed that they were not behind the money, but wanted to confront Kardashian and Jenner for behavior they alleged was rude and selfish, according to TMZ.

Soon after the display, Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin said that no permits were issued for the fireworks. “Disruptive celeb firework show that woke up thousands was NOT permitted by city or county. Checking if US Coast Guard did it. #stupidrude,” he tweeted.

Kardashian, 31, arranged a birthday bash for 200 guests aboard a yacht for Harden’s 26th birthday. Guests included her sister Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West, Kris Jenner and boyfriend Corey Gamble, Tyga, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
