Khloe Kardashian has been waiting for the right time to re-file for divorce from former NBA player Lamar Odom.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star has again submitted divorce papers on Thursday to re-start the process of legally dissolving her marriage from Odom. Kardashian cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. A source told People magazine that the reality star has always planned to proceed with the divorce.

The source shared that Kardashian’s plan to divorce Odom has never been “officially off.” The youngest Kardashian sister has been “waiting for the timing to be right” to start divorce proceedings once again, the source stated.

Avid fans may recall that Kardashian previously filed for divorce from the basketball player in December 2013. However, the TV personality had petitioned to withdraw the divorce after Odom’s near brush with death in October 2015. The reality star then stayed beside her estranged husband during his hospitalization and recovery. Kardashian has served as Odom’s source of emotional support following his near-fatal overdose, as stated in the same report. Kris Jenner’s daughter has even provided financial support to her estranged husband to ensure his swift recovery.

Another source told People magazine that Kardashian has taken care of Odom and remained “loyal” to him for quite some time. “But she's not a babysitter and needs to move on with her life," the source shared. The source also described the reality star’s recent divorce filing as “more of a formality” given the end of Kardashian’s relationship with Odom.

The same sentiment was also cited by an insider who told E!News that Kardashian “is looking forward to moving on.” Kardashian has also commented on the finality of her marriage with Odom with during a recent “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” episode. “We're definitely getting out of this marriage… because it's been a little tainted,” she stated.

The former couple, who previously starred in their own reality series “Khloe and Lamar,” tied the knot in 2009 after a whirlwind romance. Kardashian and Odom were together for four years prior their separation.
