Reality star Kim Kardashian announced this week that she officially broke the 100 million mark for Instagram followers, ranking her among the most followed accounts in the world. In true form, the 36-year-old celebrated the milestone with personal stories behind a handful of her of most-liked posts on the social media platform.

Kardashian thanked fans on Twitter Wednesday, writing, “Can’t believe I reached 100 million Instagram followers, all thanks to YOU!” She then linked to a page on her website where fans could read the stories behind some of her most popular photos, all of which celebrated her husband Kanye West and children North and Saint.

Kardashian made the announcement for her Instagram followers with photo of 3-year-old North at Hollywood's Universal Studios. “She has no clue what 100 million followers means but she's excited cause i’m [ sic ] excited,” she wrote. Thanks for the follows and the love.”

Among the handful of images, Kardashian shared a photo she posted after taking time away from her social media feeds to recuperate from being robbed at gunpoint in her Paris apartment in October. Kardashian — who has a prolific social media presence — notably took time away from her demanding schedule and maintained a low-profile in the months following the event.

“This was the first photo I posted on Instagram after taking a few months off from social media,” she captioned the image, which ranked second only to an image she posted with her family on Easter. “I wanted to spend as much quality time with my family as possible.” In the photo — which was posted in January and has amassed more than 4.2 million likes on Instagram — Kardashian is pictured with West and their two children, all clad in white apparel.

Her new Instagram ranking places her among the most-followed accounts in the world. Kardashian ranks seventh of the top 10 most popular accounts and trails only Beyoncé (102 million), Taylor Swift (102 million), Selena Gomez (120 million), and Instagram’s official account, which the most followed account with 223 million fans. Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner also falls in the top 10 and trails the eldest in the Kardashian clan with 93 million followers.
