After a tumultuous 2016 that included being involved in a robbery in Paris and her husband Kanye West spending time in the hospital, Kim Kardashian has slowly made her return to the public and social media.

Following a few pictures uploaded to her Instagram account and some activity on her Twitter account, Kim K posted her first selfie of 2017. Flashing the peace sign with mom Kris Jenner by her side, Kim uploaded the photo to her Snapchat account and wrote, “first selfie of 2017 w my mama.”

In October, Kim was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel. Following the robbery, she dropped out of the spotlight and took a three-month hiatus from social media. Just a few days after Christmas, Kanye uploaded a photo of him, Kim and their two children, North and Saint. Posed in front of a Christmas tree, Kim wore a gold dress while Kanye and the kids were matching in black.

With the recent pictures she is uploading to social media, this may mean Kim is getting back to her old ways when she was active on social media. The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star has over 89 million followers on Instagram with over 3,600 posts. Before taking a break from Instagram, Kim was know to post multiple photos throughout the weeks.

Although it’s still early in her return to social media, it appears that Kim has made one change to her uploading habits: her photos are more family oriented as opposed to showing off her lavish lifestyle.

During an October interview on “Ellen,” sister Khloé Kardashian called the Paris incident a “wake-up call” and said the family would be making adjustments to their lives. “This is a really serious matter for Kim,” she said. “I think that’s really personal as to when, that emotional terror, you could move on from that. I think for us it’s all a wake up call for all of us, but definitely just to make sure our sister’s OK.”
