Sweeping two major honors at the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) awards, The King's Speech is quickly emerging as a force to reckon with for The Social Network and other best movie contenders at the Oscars.

The Facebook drama was earlier the favorite to win at the prestigious Oscars. However, the award rivalry between The Social Network and The King's Speech intensified at the SAG awards on Sunday, when the British monarchy saga won the best-actor trophy for Colin Firth, besides claiming the prize for best ensemble cast, the guild's equivalent of the best picture Oscar.

Natalie Portman earned the best- actress award for Black Swan. Co-stars Christian Bale and Melissa Leo took home the supporting-acting honors for The Fighter.

However, with two awards, The King's Speech reigned high over others in the race for the ultimate February 27 award ceremony. The movie also leads Oscar contenders with 12 nominations, including best picture and best actor.
