With trading card games starting to gain steam, Konami has announced three new “Yu-Gi-Oh!” video games to celebrate the series’ 20th anniversary. The games will be coming to a variety of platforms, including consoles, mobile phones and the 3DS, all of which are slated for a release sometime this year.

“Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel links” will be coming to the iOS and Android in Spring 2016. No specifics were given, so it’s not yet known if the game will be a free-to-play app or a paid one. In addition to the new game, God is a Geek has confirmed major updates for “Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation,” both of which are also available on iOS and Android.

The other two games only have working titles: “Yu-Gi-Oh! For 3DS” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! Online” for consoles and PC. The 3DS game will be available this summer, while the online game will be coming in winter, according to Gematsu.

Details on the video games remain vague, but one can assume that the games will be about the trading cards and possibly, the characters from the anime. Previous “Yu-Gi-Oh!” video games have attempted to mix the card game up by adding elements from roleplaying games (RPG) or tactical strategy games.

This is the first significant wave of “Yu-Gi-Oh!” video games that have been announced for quite some time. Previous games in the series have come out on the PS2 and the Gameboy Advance, with the exception of the iOS games that were previously mentioned.

Fans can expect a number of their favorite anime characters to appear in the game, whether it’s the older anime or the most recent one that came out. Some games might even have the player control a point-of-view character who will be able to interact with the other characters.

These “Yu-Gi-Oh!” video games are set for release this year. The updates for “Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Generation” has no release dates as of this writing, though they should be available soon. It will be interesting to see how “Duel Links” differentiates itself from the other mobile games.
