Kris Jenner says she feels like a failure since she split from Bruce Jenner, her husband of 22 years. In an E! News interview, the Kardashian matriarch said she thought she had signed up for "happily ever after" when she married the Olympian.

“I feel like I failed at something because I wanted it to be that relationship for the rest of my life,” Radar Online quoted her as saying. “When I realized that it wasn’t, then you want the next best thing and that’s an amazing friendship.”

“I signed up for happily ever after and it didn’t work out that way and it makes me feel really sad,” said Jenner, 58. “You don’t spend 25 years of your life with somebody and then just walk away and say I don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

Just because her second marriage failed doesn’t mean she’s given up on love. Jenner said she is “single and ready to mingle.” She continued: “I want to definitely be in love, I like being in love, I think there’s no better feeling in the world. So yeah, I mean that would be amazing.”

Some have speculated the reason the couple divorced was due to Bruce Jenner’s evolving appearance. In recent months, he has grown his hair and reports circulated he was transitioning into a woman. The decathlon winner, 64, ditched his ponytail Saturday night after attending a sold-out Elton John concert, E! News reported.

"We will always have much love and respect for each other," the couple said n a statement after their divorce was announced following an 11-month separation. "Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our No. 1 priority."

Kris Jenner has requested to joint custody of Kylie Jenner, 17, the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner family who is a minor.
