Kristen Stewart: My Boyfriend is English

Kristen Stewart has finally confirmed her relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson -- sort of.

Without naming Pattinson, the 21-year-old actress accidentally spilled the beans during a photo shoot for British GQ's November issue. Stewart told the reporter that she wanted to explore more of the UK because my boyfriend is English, according to Us Weekly.

When asked about the comment the next day, Stewart defended herself.

I never would have said that if I knew you were interviewing me, she said.

Ever since the start of the Twilight film phenomenon in 2008 and her rumored relationship with Pattinson, Stewart has remained a shy, private person.

Vogue UK reports that in the GQ interview, Stewart talks about maintaining her privacy in the public eye.

I'm like 'That's mine' . . . And I like to keep whatever is mine remaining that way. It's a funny little game to play and it's a slippery slope. I always say to myself I'm never going to give anything away because there's never any point or benefit for me, said Stewart.

Fans of the couple are already responding on Twitter. As of Wednesday aftenroon, MY BOYFRIEND IS ENGLISH was an instant trending topic, right behind the usual Twitter topic king Justin Bieber.

In 2009, months before the release of the second film, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Pattinson addressed girlfriend rumors of his own. At the time, he was linked to Stewart, actress Camilla Belle and a Brazilian model.

There's literally not a single [true] story that could be written about me . . . I don't see people. I don't even have people's phone numbers. I almost don't want to have a girlfriend in this environment, Pattinson told GQ in March 2009.

Stewart is currently in the UK filming Snow White and The Huntsman with Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth.

Pattinson recently wrapped up shooting the David Cronenberg drama, Cosmopolis, with Paul Giamatti and Juliette Binoche in Toronto, Canada.

The next installment of the Twilight film series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 arrives in theaters on Nov. 18. Part 2 comes out on Nov. 16, 2012.
