Kyle Massey, a Dancing With The Stars alum, has refuted claims that he is suffering from cancer, and has called the rumors “classless.”

The 21-year-old ‘That’s So Raven’ actor released a statement to ET Online, on Sunday, clarifying that he does not have cancer, and said that such a hoax was in bad taste.

"I want to say first, 'I do not have cancer,' and I don't know where this inconsiderate and insensitive rumor originated from," Massey said in the statement to ET Online. "My team and I are making every attempt to find out the original source of this story because it's just not cool."

“This hoax is just plain classless! Especially in light of the various tragedies happening this weekend and the Trayvon Martin verdict," Massey said.

News of Massey suffering from the disease surfaced over the weekend, and it was a trending topic on Twitter. Over the weekend, an increasing number of Twitter users wrote about Massey being diagnosed with the disease, with one tweet reading: “Zimmerman is free, Cory Monteith is dead, Kyle Massey has cancer, Casey Anthony is pregnant. On a scale of 1-10 how done are you with this day?”

A representative for the young actor said Massey is upset with these rumors especially because some of his family members had succumbed to cancer.

“Cancer is a disease that is very personal to me and my family. I have had 2 uncles and a very dear friend who passed away in the last two years from cancer and my Granddad currently has prostate cancer," Massey said, in another statement cited by Aceshowbiz.com. "So, making light of any illnesses that a person has no control over getting is not something to joke about or make light of!"
