The Lakers have chosen former Cavaliers coach Mike Brown, replacing Phil Jackson.

Brown will get $18 million in his four year deal with a team option for a final year.

However, according to people familiar with Kobe Bryant, the superstar guard met the decision with confusion.

He mentioned early this month that he would like to have Brian Shaw as a new head coach of Lakers. The reason for this was that Kobe thinks Shaw is very knowledgeable with the franchise, players and the triangle offense.

When reached Wednesday by The Times about the Brown hire, Bryant had no comment.

The Lakers were swept by the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semi Finals and failed to accomplish three-peat.
